Spring Pack Assemblies / Clutch Return Spring Packs

Spring pack assemblies, also referred to as clutch return spring packs, are often found in a multitude of applications for transmissions, clutches and gearboxes.  Spring packs primarily assist by returning the piston to its starting position when the clutch is disengaged.  In rotating clutches, spring packs prevent the piston from applying the clutch plates.

As a pioneer in the spring industry with over 150 years of experience in designing and manufacturing engineered springs, our customers recognize the importance of having a partner to work with from prototypes to production.  Associated Spring's innovative team can engineer, manufacture & assemble spring packs in a variety of sizes & configurations.

For applications requiring maximum fatigue life, high loads and/or packaging restrictions, we can manufacture spring packs that are optimized to meet your requirements, including:

  • Shot peening
  • Higher grade spring steels, such as Chrome Silicon, Chrome Silicon Vanadium & other higher grade valve quality materials
  • Special coatings for lubricity and/or corrosion protection.

Our spring pack assemblies are used in critical Automotive/Transportation & Diesel Powertrain applications, including emergency vehicles (fire & ambulance), commercial delivery vehicles, school buses & public bus transportation vehicles, showcasing the robustness, quality & performance of our springs.

Associated Spring facilities are certified to TS16949 & other industry standards to meet our customer needs.

How to Specify:

A blueprint or sketch is the best way to specify your spring pack requirements. Consultation with Associated Spring engineers early in the design stage will often result in the best lifecycle cost optimization.
